I have positive expectations for a coaching relationship that helps you to create the life YOU want to live. To partner together professionally, I want you to be familiar with the following information and basic guidelines.

What is coaching?

Coaching is a new technology of personal and professional development based on concepts from sports, business, spirituality, psychology and organizational development. It’s for passionate people who want more from their personal and business lives. A coach helps them focus, prioritize and set realistic “s.m.a.r.t.” goals, develop a strategy to achieve them and provide support throughout the process. It’s not unlike having a personal trainer or an athletic coach… transformational, but in a personal sense. The achievement of goals is something that comes more quickly as a result of the coaching partnership.

Why does coaching work?

Coaching works when there are several factors present: 1) The client is willing to grow, and 2) There is a gap between where they are now and where they want to be. The results come from a commitment and relationship of allowing God to direct your thoughts and actions. We team together to hear God’s leading and to follow His will.

Successful coaching clients know the value of sharing ideas with someone who understands them and is subjective enough not to want a lot for them, yet objective enough not to be biased or self-serving. Talking about options with someone who can listen, is often enough to have it all become very clear.

Coaching works because of three unique features:
SYNERGY: Client and coach become a team, focusing on the client’s goals and needs and accomplishing more than the client would alone.
STRUCTURE: With a coach, the client take more actions, expand their vision and get results, thanks to the unique partnership of accountability, purpose and strategic prioritizing. 
EXPERTISE: The coach helps guide the client to focus on God, listen for His direction and follow His principles for making the best choices for setting goals, developing skills for intentional results in their personal lives for abundance and eternal significance.

Where do you start with a coach?

Most coaches begin with a special client meeting or call to get to know each other. The coach wants to hear about the client’s goals, needs, and problems. The client wants to get comfortable with the coach. During this meeting, both parties design a list of goals and a game plan to reach these goals.

How do the coaching sessions work?

Coaching is usually done over the phone. In addition to allowing frequent, regular contact, it makes it easy to stay in the “coaching relationship”, since the client can call from their office, home, car or anywhere with their cell phone. The person coached completes a coaching call focus form prior to each call, describing the current challenges and the progress they’ve made since the last call. Coaching sessions vary from initially more time together weekly to a monthly schedule of two or three sessions for 30-60 minutes as needed.

The focus of the call is determined by the client. The coach helps them to solve the problems and make the most of the opportunities. When they are missing a principle or distinction, we draw one so they can see a whole lot better. When they are taking on a large goal, we help them design and project and provide the support and structure needed to make sure it gets done. We bring out the clients best by offering advice, expecting a lot, helping them strategize and celebrating the wins. There is often “fieldwork”, where the client is given a formula, new perspective or a challenge to try something in a new way. That forms the basis for the next call.

What happens when you begin a contract with a coach?

You take yourself and what you want more seriously.
You take more effective and focused actions immediately.
You stop putting up with stuff that gets in your way.
You create momentum to achieve more, be more balanced and develop more powerful management skills.
You set personal goals that are clear and meet your needs.
You identify and eliminate the barriers that get in the way of the achievement of goals.
You communicate about what you need and want from others in a more responsible way.

 

The Coaching Journey: I invite you to think of coaching as a process. Many people create change for themselves in a short time. I recommend several coaching sessions prior to a life plan facilitation with follow up coaching. To refine and sustain transformation takes a commitment of several months. So, I recommend we begin the coaching process with a minimum commitment of 90 days on the part of both of us. Many of my clients choose to continue after that as we investigate other goals, dreams, or unique opportunities. I then suggest my monthly coaching option for feedback, accountability, and a reality check.

 

The Coaching Investment: My coaching fee is variable depending on your situation and your choice of plan (weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly). I accept payment in advance each month by cash, check or with Credit Card/Debit Cards on Paypal. Your coaching includes scheduled appointments (in person or by phone) and emails between sessions. Initially we can begin with at least a 3-5-7 coaching sessions commitment. I offer special deals for coaching packages that includes  assessment, awareness, preparation and follow up for a complete intensive life plan facilitation (20-25 hours)or ten coaching conversations utilizing Dr. Katie Brazelton’s Life Purpose curriculum.

 

The Coaching Procedure: This will be discussed together at the time of your coaching contract (either you will call me on a designated phone line or I will call you). I will return email and any other phone calls within 48 hours on weekdays. If you need to reschedule our appointment, please give me 24 hours notice.

 

The Cancellation Policy: Cancellations need to be made 24 hours in advance or the appointment will be billed for. Emergencies can be worked around on a case by case basis. Missed calls are not made up nor refunded.

 

The Coaching Homework: Email your homework to me by 9pm on the night before your appointment. Homework will vary from week to week and depend on your unique circumstances.

 

The Coaching Communication: My objective is to have a coaching relationship that is fully open, honest, real, and trusting in our communication styles. I highly value authenticity and integrity so please bring to my attention and concerns you may have so that we can resolve it as soon as possible.
